Iris is one of those women who is always on go and seems very calm and organized in every situation. As Co-Founder for Duffybag she managed to build up a beautiful brand from scratch. We were curious about how she did it. So we decided to have a chat with her.
More then thirty years ago chief executive Jean Louis Dumas was seated next to Jane Birkin on a flight from Paris to London. After placing her straw bag in the overhead compartment of her seat, Birkin explained to Dumas that it had been difficult to find a leather weekend bag she liked. Intrigued by the mesmerizing actress he created a black supple leather bag. This all so became the design for the iconic Hermes Birkin bag as we know it today. It seems like Hermes might have to change the name. Since Jane Birkin requested to have taken her name off the crocodile version of the bag.
When I was just 16 years old, I started working a weekend-job in a high-end clothing store in my home town. This is where I got ruined for life. I had to wear clothes from the shop during my shifts and I got a 50% discount on the entire collection. When the new collection would come in, it felt like Christmas. Oh, the excitement to find out what was in the boxes! I was a very lucrative employee as I spent my entire salary in the shop.
In honour of the 65th anniversary of the beloved Charles M. Schulz cartoon characters, the fashion industry paid a tribute to Snoopy and Belle. Their homage to these iconic cartoon figures can be seen in a traveling exhibition that will move from town to town. For this exhibition the most prestige fashion houses dressed miniature Snoopy’s and Belle’s in couture.
As a lady on the go, dry shampoo is your best friend in keeping your hair flawless. If applied correctly of course. The horror of those white streaks makes a lot women shy away from dry shampoos. Even more when you’re a brunette. But we are here to tell you not to give up on the product just yet. For that reason we present you some do’s and don’ts for dry shampoo.
Are you getting ready for the new season and a new wardrobe to match?
We sure are. Now you can have your new look shipped to your home by shopping online. Or you can really take the time to treat yourself by planning a shopping trip. If you’re planning on doing just that, we’ve listed four amazingly unexpected shopping cities.
No one likes to say goodbye.
Especially to a wardrobe they’ve had for years. But sometime you want to go shopping for the new season and you have more clothes then closet. Here’s how to get through it
quickly and have some fun while you’re at it.
Do you ever wash your “new” clothes right after you’ve bought them? I never did ( confession time..) A research by Dr. Philip Tierno - director of microbiology and immunology at New York University studies said that “new clothes” that come from the store, are far more dirtier than you probably think.
I’m sure everyone recognizes the dilemma of whether your new clothes must first wash ( takes so much time!) or if you just put them on immediately. When you buy new clothes, you expect that they really new and that you are the first person to wear them. But, this is not always the case. For instance: consider what happens to clothes when you return them to the store for some reason. Sales people will just put them on the rack. Ready to get bought by the next person.
Move over Noah.. This is the Chanel Ark.
This year’s Chanel’s couture Spring/ Summer show took place on a perfectly dressed lawn with a big wooden hut on it. Which is a lovely contrast with the soft colors and flowing fabrics.
We saw an overall ecological theme. Not only in the set of the show (which Chanel says it will be recycled). But also the collection itself. It was created using organic and recycled materials. If you look closely you can even spot some pieces that are decorated with strips of fabric that resembled wood shavings. Get ready to see the complete show
